When it comes to photography,

I’ll be honest. I kind of hate the wedding industry. It grosses me out and makes me super eye-rolly. Yes, it’s provided me (and my family) with a living for quite a while now, but…

I think the wedding industry does a huge disservice to many couples. I think it glorifies and exaggerates parts of the wedding day that aren’t going to really matter in 1, 5, let alone 50 years…

Look, I love your succulent centerpieces. (No really I can’t help it. I’m only human.) But please remember that the only thing that matters is what is actually happening… the two of you committing yourselves to each other, most likely surrounded by the individuals in your lives that are Your People…

Succulents will go out of style, but feelings will never go out of style. Experiences will never go out of style… and that’s what I love about weddings. I love the experiences, the interactions of the people, the moments that will make you cry and laugh decades down the road…

And can I just put out there that there are no rules for weddings? Right, something’s gotta be signed or whatever, but other than that, do exactly what feels most exciting, what feels most like celebration, whatever will give you the most joy. And do it all in whatever order you damn well please. Maybe most importantly, leave out the shit you don’t want to do…

I’ll be there, not to capture something that the wedding blogs say are all the rage.
I’ll be present and create images of what matters deeply to you.
And that’s what lights me up.

I can’t wait to make some art with you.
